Blue Cross Blue Shield, EMI, PEHP, HMHI-BHN, MotivHealth, Select Health, and Curative. Before your first session, it's worth a quick call to your plan to confirm coverage and any authorization it needs, so there are no surprises later.
Cost and coverage are usually the first questions I get, so here are the answers up front.

Questions people ask before they reach out.
Straight answers, in one place. If yours isn't here, ask me on the call.
Rates and insurance
You can still see me. I'll give you a superbill on request to submit to your insurance for out-of-network benefits, and a billing specialist handles the paperwork.
Cash, all major credit cards, FSA, and HSA. Bishop and other ecclesiastical pay are accepted too.
If you're paying out of pocket, whether you're uninsured, out of network, or choosing not to use your benefits, the No Surprises Act gives you the right to a Good Faith Estimate before we start. It lays out what to expect in charges over the next twelve months or fifty sessions, whichever comes first. If anything changes, you get the update in writing.
Scheduling and appointments
We start with the free fifteen-minute call. If we're a good fit, we'll set your first appointment before we hang up, and after that we schedule at the end of each session. To schedule, move, or cancel, call or text the office at (801) 382-9857. Text is usually the quickest way to reach me.
Within one business day. If it's a weekend or a holiday, the next day the office is open.
Mondays 10 to 6. Tuesdays 11 to 6. Wednesdays and Thursdays 10 to 6. Fridays 10 to 5.
About fifty to sixty minutes. The first session, the initial assessment, is sixty.
Yes. In person in Sandy, or by secure video from anywhere in Utah. Same work, same me.
That depends on what you want out of this, and we'll talk about it in your first session. I'll make a recommendation based on your goals and support whatever frequency actually fits your life. Early on, meeting a little more often helps the work settle in. How long you stay is your decision, and I'll tell you honestly what I see along the way.
Talk to me about it before the session. For confidentiality reasons I don't usually recommend it, but if it's for safety, like needing a ride home after a hard session, we can make it work. There may be a short form for them to sign.
Confidentiality and safety
What you tell me in session stays with me. There are a few limits the law sets, and I'd rather you know them up front. If you have a plan and intent to end your life and we can't keep you safe together, I may need to involve the appropriate people, and we'll talk through the options first. I'm a mandatory reporter for abuse of a child or a vulnerable adult. If you tell me you intend to hurt someone else, I have to act on that. And if a court orders my records, I'll tell you if I'm able.
I'm not able to offer around-the-clock care, and I may not see a message right away. I also don't offer same-day emergency appointments. If you're in danger right now, call or text 988, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room. They're there at every hour.
Practice policies
If you arrive fifteen or more minutes late, the session counts as a no-show and the full fee is charged. If you're on your way, text me.
No. The only exception is a training recording, and only with your written and spoken permission, which you can withdraw at any time. If you'd like to record a session yourself, we'll talk through the risks first.
When you've reached what you came for, or when you'd be better served by someone else, we'll talk about it and plan the ending together. If three weeks go by without an appointment or a message from you, I'll close your file. You're welcome back after that; it just means a new intake.
Please give me 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. With less than that, unless it's an emergency, the full session fee is charged.
I see clients fourteen and up. A parent or legal guardian reviews and signs additional intake paperwork, and the same limits on confidentiality apply to what a teen tells me. Beyond those limits, what your teen says in session stays in session.
